Desktop Support / System Engineer (Richmond, CA)
SSP Data is an IT consulting and
service company based in Richmond, CA, which is seeking
qualify candidate to fill in the experienced Desktop
Support and Entry Level System Engineer positions.
There are currently openings for a
mid-level Desktop Support and entry level System
Engineering positions require working in various client
sites for on-going projects assigned.
Responsibility includes setup,
support, maintenance, troubleshooting and updating of
IT network, computer hardware and software, printers for
our clients. This position also needs to support for
data communication equipment and associated wiring.
Job Description
-
Install, Support and/or troubleshoot IT network,
computer hardware and software, printer, wireless
network, anti-virus program, router and switch, and
others in our client sites.

Follows up with customers to keep them informed of
the status of their issues/projects.

Write and maintain problem resolution records.

Write and maintain project documentation related to
customer projects.
-
Research on new technology and products.
-
Performs other related duties assigned by managers.

Rotating 24/7 on call support duty.
Education, experience and other
requirements
-
Bachelor degree from four-year College or
university; or a 2 to 4 years related experience
and/or training; or equivalent combination of
education and experience.

Certifications Cisco and/or Microsoft preferred.

2-3 years of desktop support experience preferred.

Solid knowledge of Desktop and Server, software and
hardware required.

Basic configuration experience of switches and
routers is preferred.
-
Strong Knowledge of Windows Vista / Win 2003 / WinXP / Win2K.
MacOS X and Linux experience is a plus.

Ability to install, troubleshoot, repair and
maintain computers, hardware and software,
peripherals and other external devices.

Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.

Demonstrated team player; and must be willing to
learn new skills with ability to follow written
procedures and guidelines, meet deadlines and
prioritize assignments as well.

Must own his/her vehicle.
